Jesus was born in a watering trough, a manger, a cold stone basin used by animals and surrounded by dirt. God chose to come in the most vulnerable position, as an infant, and He chose to make his first bed in the most un-glamorous of places.
Anhalt Dance Hall is a rustic, hundred year-old barn, with cracked and splintered doors. It is dark, a little dusty, and the floor is covered in scars from years of people's feet shuffling to the music. In the wintertime, the cold outside fills the inside with a chill that will turn your hands and nose red.
Just like at His birth when He was placed in a stone water trough, every year God transforms this chilly, well worn building, into a place filled with His light and warmth.
