African Orphanage

The first time I went to Uganda, as I was drenched in the laughter and beauty of the faces I saw, overwhelmed at the hunger in the eyes of some who were too small to articulate it, the Lord brought me to Isaiah 61 over and over. There were moments I was taken in by the abundance of joy in that place. There were moments I was overtaken by the pain and desperation - by the need for Jesus to COME. It is clearly Gods heart for the poor and the orphans and widows...for the least of these. We are so blessed, since our first trip there, to have been a part of getting the kids at New Grace and Hope Ministries a water well, funding a new dorm facility, buying beds and mattresses for orphans who call this home. It is my prayer that these things are a blessing to those children but mainly to the heart of God.

It is a joy to finally have the opportunity to support, and adopt into our hearts and community a group of children who are motherless and fatherless. I am overjoyed at the relationships we have been able to create and maintain there that have allowed us to now be a part of caring for over 40 orphans. It is my prayer that the trip we will be making in July would be a visible picture to these children we've taken in to our hearts, of their Heavenly Father coming for them. Loving them. Caring for them. Laughing with them. Holding them. Teaching them His word and truth. May we, at Riverside, always be a part of caring for Orphans and Widows. May we always be a part of bringing His Holy Kingdom to earth...easing suffering, and comforting the brokenhearted!
