She ticks off the week’s announcements, no cue sheet in her hand. She is poised and confident. It’s time to pray. She bows her head, “Would you pray for me?” A pause. A smile. “Would you pray with me is what I meant to say.”
Trained in the dramatic arts, Brooke Blevins hasn't forgotten how to laugh with the joy of the Lord. She attended Trinity University where she obtained her undergraduate in speech communication and economics, then her master’s in education. She was a teacher at Reagan High School for four years and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction. Brooke’s experience as a teacher has helped her think more creatively and stay more organized.
Brooke started volunteering as the Program Director in October 2004. Planning worship services, special events, and organizing a creative team are reflections of her talent and training. “I love watching the kingdom of heaven break forth in our community. I love to see the Holy Spirit show up and change people’s lives. I love working with an awesome team of people who are desperately trying to seek the will of God for our community. I love leaving a service, knowing that God showed up and touched people’s lives because we were obedient to His commands.”
